How does payment work — and is Vipps coming?
In a buyer–seller deal on Finnting, you pay each other directly — we are not a party to the settlement. For Finnting's own services (Premium and boosting listings) we are introducing card payment.
Deals between buyer and seller
Finnting is an intermediary and a meeting place. We do not receive or pass on money between buyer and seller. Once you have agreed a deal, you pay directly between yourselves:
- Vipps or a regular bank transfer is safe — it gives a receipt and a record of who received the money and when.
- Cash can be fine for small face-to-face purchases, but provides no documentation.
Preferably pay once you have seen the item, and be careful with advance payment. See What is safe trading?
Card payment for Finnting's own services
For Finnting's own services — such as Finnting+, boosting listings and the payment-confirmed seller badge — you pay by card via Stripe. Card payment is active; current prices are at /priser. Finnting+ is free through 2027.
Vipps identity in bidding — currently in demo mode
We are integrating Vipps to confirm identity in property bidding. Right now this is in demo mode: the "Bekreft med Vipps" (Confirm with Vipps) button always succeeds, performs no real payment or signing, and is clearly marked as a demo. Once access is in place, we switch on real Vipps — the rest of the flow stays the same.
Never share codes
Whatever the payment method: never share your BankID, card numbers, passwords or one-time codes with a counterparty. It is always a scam when someone asks for them. See How to avoid scams.
